Makeup of the Day | Lime Crime + Urban Decay Vice 2 + the Fun Palette

Lime Crime how I love thee.

Lime Crime does funky, opaque lip colors like no other. Their scent is amazing, they go on smooth and they stay in place, eliminating the need for lip liner. I have eight shades (so far!) but my latest favorite is Chinchilla, a grey with purple undertones.

Here’s how I wore it for the first time:

I chose to focus the attention on the lip color by keeping the eye makeup pretty simple.

While there were a couple of people at work that asked if I was okay or told me I looked “gothic” but the majority of the responses were positive. My peers seemed to dig the funky, edgier look as much as I did.

Why I love this color? Well, obviously because it’s purplish (sort of), but also because it’s a way of embracing the edgy black lipstick trend in a more wearable tone.

Makeup of the Day | Urban Decay Vice2 + Fun Palette

If you haven’t noticed yet, purple is my favorite color, especially with makeup. Lucky for me, I have brown eyes and purple compliments brown eyes perfectly.

When it comes to pigmented purple eye shadows, no brand comes close to Urban Decay. They have so many spectacular shades of purple and in my world you can never have too many.

Here’s my most recent purple look, perfect for a night out:IMG_7394IMG_7393

FIRST IMPRESSIONS | Urban Decay Vice 2 Palette

Urban Decay’s Vice2 Palette… all I can really say is HOLY PIGMENT! This was my first Urban Decay palette and honestly, I never understood what the hype was about until I swatched it.

Check out my first impression / swatches here:

Overall, the plastic packaging looks somewhat tacky but it is definitely sturdy and could withstand travel. The eye shadow colors themselves are incredibly pigmented and varied enough that you could wear this palette from day to night.

Here are two looks I’ve worn recently using only the Vice 2 Palette.

Even though the palette is a bit pricey, you get 20 eyeshadows so it comes out to about $3 each. Not bad. Overall I’d definitely recommend this palette if you aren’t afraid to go beyond neutrals.
